The story of the brewery starts with the two brothers, Jan and Jozef Hermans, who together founded the Brasserie Hermans Frères in 1898.
Jos Hermans junior is the original inventor of the Tipsy beer, which owes its name to his favorite horse.
In 2020, Joey and Marc Hermans will reintroduce the Tipsy beer as a tribute to their grandfather, Jos Hermans.
