Brouwerij Viven
The story of the brewery goes back to 1999, a hobby brewer honored his village Vivenkapelle by naming it to one of his beers. The blond thirst quencher was given the name 'Kapel van Viven', named after the ancient chapel of the village.
In 2005, Tony Traen of the eponymous liquor store takes over and rechristens them under the new name Viven. Over the years he has developed a range of beers, always with an emphasis on a hoppy character. His wife Krystle, who is one of the few female brewers responsible for the taste and production, joins the brewery. All test brews and experimentum beers are brewed in their 12HL brewery in Sijsele and the larger quantities are produced at the Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi.
