Brouwerij De Ranke
In 1930, Germain Noffels started a beer distillery and lemonade factory on the Wijnberghoek in Wevelgem. Daughter Irène and son-in-law Napoleone Bacelle succeeded him after the Second World War and turned the beer distillery into an ordinary beer trade.
In 1986, son Nino and his brother take over the beer trade/lemonade factory together. In 1989 they stop the lemonade shop and the liquor business is continued by his brother.
After this, Nino starts working for a refrigeration company and brewing becomes a hobby. After a lot of experimentation and test brews, Nino decides to commercialize his own beer “Guldenberg”.
In 1996, Nino joins forces with Guido Devos and De Ranke brewery is started.
The Père Noël is launched as a Christmas beer and the XX Bitter is brewed for the first time, a milestone in the brewery's history.
After 11 years, Nino and Guido decided in 2005 to start their own brewery in Dottignies (Hainaut).
