Brouwerij Broeder Jacob

Brewery Broeder Jacob was founded in 2010 in Tongeren by two passionate beer lovers, Johan Claes and Bruno Verbiest. What sets them apart is their special choice to combine beer with music. It is no coincidence that the name "Broeder Jacob" refers to the world-famous children's song. Musical details, such as the music stave of the song and a treble clef, can be found on every bottle and engraved in the glass - a subtle nod to the source of inspiration for their creations.

The story behind the brand is equally unique. It tells the story of the young Brother Jacob, who is only allowed to brew beer in his spare time by his abbot. But his passion knows no bounds: he experiments with recipes until late at night, which means he always goes to his monastery cell too late. The result is the well-known refrain: "Broeder Jacob, are you still sleeping?"

The brewery has experienced strong growth since its foundation. Jacob Oostra recently joined the team, bringing new energy and expertise. Today, Broeder Jacob is a modern, flexibly equipped brewery with advanced brewing installations. In addition to their own range, they also brew custom beers for external partners. With the addition of new 20 hectoliter tanks, they can respond to a wide range of beer styles and specific customer requirements.

Broeder Jacob's range is versatile and surprising. The best-known beers include Broeder Jacob Bruin, a rich dark beer with 7.5% alcohol, and Broeder Jacob Double Espresso – an innovative coffee beer, created in collaboration with a local coffee roaster.
