Brouwerij Cornelissen

The brewery has a rich history dating back to the first half of the nineteenth century. It all started with Jan Mathys Cornelissen, the forefather of what is now six generations of Cornelissen who can proudly call the "JC" initials.

In 1936, Jaak Cornelissen, Jan's grandson, built a new brewery that specialized in brewing bottom-fermenting beers. The following year, 1937, production of the famous Pax Pils began.

Under the leadership of Jef, Jaak's grandson, significant investments were made in 1979 in modern machines, new technologies and new buildings. At the same time, Jef remained faithful to the family values and craft brewing traditions with which the brewery, then known as Sint-Jozef, had grown.

Since 2014, Jef Jr. proudly took over the baton and continues the JC tradition. His ambitious plans for the future are based on pillars such as family values, quality, authenticity and creating unique taste experiences. The old name Sint-Jozef has now been replaced by their own family name: Brouwerij Cornelissen.

And the future is in good hands, because with the children Jacob and Julie, the seventh generation of the Cornelissen family is now growing up, with the same proud "JC" initials, in a family history that is rich and full of tradition.
